Brand identity and website for
Editorial Comba

Editorial Comba is an independent Hispanic publishing house based in Barcelona, with a cohesive brand identity across books, web, and communication materials.
The goal was to build a strong, recognizable, and contemporary brand capable of connecting with writers and readers in a highly competitive editorial landscape. The result is a clean and flexible identity that resonates with the creative community it addresses.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to balance two fundamental dimensions of the publishing house

Approach

The process began with a discovery phase to understand Editorial Comba’s editorial vision

Through interviews, we identified the brand’s core values, its working philosophy, and the need to create a visual system capable of representing the union of writers from both sides of the Atlantic, without losing coherence or personality.

Brand foundations

During the strategic phase, two key concepts were defined to coexist within the visual identity:

The Union of Voices
Connecting writers from Latin America and Spain through diverse perspectives and cultural contexts.
The jump rope as a Metaphor
A symbol of movement, coordination, and rhythm inherent to the literary process.

These ideas were translated into a balanced, contemporary, and expressive visual language.

Visual system

Editorial Comba’s visual identity is built around the shape of the jumping rope and the letter “C”, resulting in a flexible and recognizable graphic system. A distinct color palette was defined for each of the three collections, while maintaining visual coherence under a unified brand umbrella.

This system was consistently applied across:
The website · The first and guide book cover and content design · Stationery and communication materials · An explotation of the first book adapted to a digital format.

Outcome

The result is a clear, contemporary, and versatile visual identity designed to grow with the publishing house and adapt across formats. Founded in 2014, Editorial Comba has published over 60 books and remains an active and successful independent publishing project within the Hispanic literary landscape.
